Learning Task Problems and Fixes

The article contains some quick fixes for common issues that teacher’s may have using Learning Tasks.

Problem: Students submit work and it appears as not yet received.

If you have noticed that there are students that have submitted work for a Compass Learning Task but it still shows up as Not yet received (example below), follow the steps below to resolve the issue.

1. You will need to edit the Learning Task. To do this click on the spanner icon and select Edit.

2. Navigate to Components then check to see if you have 2 submission components added.  If you do, please remove one of them.

Compass will not update the submission to received if there are 2 submission components added to the Learning Task.

All future submissions will now automatically be marked as submitted.

Problem: Students cannot see any results or feedback

If you are aware that students cannot view results you have entered for a Compass Learning Task, follow the steps below to resolve the issue.

1. You will need to edit the Learning Task. To do this click on the spanner icon and select Edit.

2. Ensure that you have Grading Visible ticked within the Learning Task options.

3. Navigate to Components then check to see you have the Parent/Student access set Hidden. Update this to Students, Parents or both Students and Parents.

Students and/or parents will now be able to view any grades or comments.
